Update - Apple confirms the $999 release window after "iPhone 7 and the iPhone X launch to mid-2019." No additional sales expected until sometime during year 2020 (at about US$999 per model + taxes), Apple's own numbers. As an alternative I suspect there won't be much in retail price range. Not every product launches from a very competitive pricing strategy - like many new players from major manufacturers can do. But at that point in time there can be a great profit to "fool around".
