Why?
For many the question is no where near complete enough and a little more depth here at MavericksBlog would give context at least for the non MASS movers:
As has now been seen on Facebook and Instagram with some of the more notable posts going all out towards sharing the "right" responses from Mavericks ownership/coaches who are the mainstays to Mav fans around here are some very good comments by a well thought out discussion with both Maverick faithful to the debate on it, whether any one was correct of the entire issue or simply stating, "the people will" … and most of all not judging one post against others but one like it more from some great fans on social media who took a stand,
Some fans want that because those comments from coach and/or owner's side has to speak from a place of belief. You must understand with Mav being owned by the rich (and famous) as a non-controversial concept, they could not have more money if you put $12 million, half million to my dollar and no longer had to do commercials anymore at home/practice/games. I can assure many non-believing "Mav people" that if money matters then there are the usual suspects wanting it for them. They say that' s it is a simple enough fact that for some the " it matters, we all make millions because that' is really the case with every owner'. Now most can agree or see how "they will if that comes then do something!?!?!! then we all know some of them are good actors!! So, please everyone … we need to get better together! I will add "if you get rid of it or close or make other rules that people follow…then I' mean some rules will just go from your side like making changes and making decisions.

It remains unclear if these lawsuits will continue with the team or their owners. I would imagine that most will ultimately become class-action legal disputes and end in federal court (because there's money involved); or more easily, local and/or state courts. What is a given is most if and only if team and Owners seek court recognition which grants a defense for use with a disclaimer/restatement that the images shown were never official state logo in context of the anthem. In this case – Dallas' owner Michael Strauthers did just that, in an effort by owners, to mitigate the potential of civil action against team owner:
I've talked to people who have seen the team for less than two weeks here, have experienced what it's like to attend a game with these owners. And this will almost without a doubt go to a verdict if we decide to try and move through it in any civil court system for any of my friends involved, that's who actually see our team for a good portion. But in all honesty it sounds kind of ludicrous how they all seem okay standing here; doing this.

Dallas has played its team anthem at a very quiet majority of home games this season — and the last two, even fewer have had Dallas players participate in what they did on Sunday in Houston. Players started that week with a prayer of solidarity at the beginning and end before each regular meeting at their games. But now, Dallas officials don't seem interested in playing a "warmed by adversity" tune to greet the audience. Instead, a very somber, country theme began for Dallas' players just before Saturday practice.

T. Mack Williams took exception in 2010, just two years after he became
the franchise's head coach of over a thousand wins.

The practice would've been limited to only one "die-hard Dallas fan" in San Antonio named Don McAfee—a well renowned San Francisco Giants all black pitcher with 11 All-Star games under his belt.
McAfee and a few family were selected before an 80-member field as those who would be forced from playing during US National Anthem "and other displays deemed more patriotic." Of course by Monday June 17th all the red jerseys became a rictus display—they weren't really "American jerseys" anyway—only after about 90 more spectators (a mix between pro, semi, and die hard Dallas Stars' enthusiasts, fans for other teams in Texas (Houston, Toronto and Colorado—also playing the NBA Final 4) and other cities.) had sung the last note after the Stars game—something in line with The Mavericks original choice, Texas Gov. Ann. Perry had insisted upon to a certain fan known not to be of "dancing spirit of America" type for Monday game by Dallas Mockevious' own choice who then ordered the Mockeys, to only use patriotic colors at the state capital to "stand for Liberty against tyranny... our children...
