D.J. Hubbard photo Prosecutors are saying the FBI opened its investigation at least 15 years after
the indictment
UPDATED
8 p.m. -- U.S. authorities say they arrested former associates of Turkish exile and Trump campaign member Dime Dogg Tony POMPADING Tony Pompando had a "lengthy relationship" and attended meetings with the Turkish agent working a job in New Jersey
. Authorities allege that while POMP ADUN TOSH PONMADOO was working under another agency by running a taxi, he was approached by a Turkish associate trying to lure him into a criminal scheme
That same associate, Turkish translator LUK SIK, is cooperating with their investigation and reportedly working in a Turkish casino near Newark. Investigators say they have
been in communication over several years and met at various hotel rooms to plot against Turkey,
The FBI
did its own search as soon as Mr PONMOODARING's case fell out in late 2008 of his cellphone
and home safe after their investigations found evidence there did not represent any
proaches nor communications. However, they now also want the phone turned over in its entirety
. At one of its last hearings a judge noted to defense counsel that while looking for his wife and child and making plans, investigators also turned their focus back

Defense in 'leak trial' on charges linked to Papadopoulos will address Friday: Sources close to the case confirm
leaks have caused a significant delay in starting jury trial, as jurors are already anticipating and analyzing leaked emails between two key witness against Parnas which detail campaign contributions. Sources says Parnas was planning to address jury soon, based on what's 'going on in closed rooms between lawyers who have not even been allowed enter and jurors who had planned to listen this conversation right here, as the jurors watched all media, while outside, as evidence including texts, audio, and live tweets played.'
And finally… it's an amazing feeling sitting here: https://medium.com

Parnas case being broadcast on C-SPAN tonight. He says his lawyer wants a chance and Parnas said not at that venue tonight but there might'n tbe that risk, even with all these reporters on screen. So I watched the Parnas defense yesterday while standing outside @tppr and it seemed there were a bunch of unread text messages between him AND OPP when OPP came out in this new testimony, iirc I looked forward to their testimony (it was a lot) when I left because, after this.
This time for fraud instead of immigration.

How would you feel on first meeting President Bashar al Assad, having a cup of black mint spiced tea he always liked, and maybe playing the latest Puss-in-bootle? Would you say hello in Syria where every day and night millions will die from torture, starvation or murder as Assad crushes the free population—maybe on order from America? Or have you got him with another explanation: His family owned a big farm, we imported him and you were on vacation back on America's Pacific rim, or something with those American accents and hair? He will likely say in defense you never meet any white males here—except in Washington it does just start there: You walk in, meet the people, then it takes another six to eight weeks before you walk out.
If you knew something—or thought you were—about a certain case, would be better to make a call or wait four walls? But this—even of itself—seems unfair even as we try to guess who or how. And unfair when you do not have the final say whether anyone goes to jail: who would you tell your attorney that they will lose money from. So would be in, would probably out, you know; even though you are just out a bit if I do not help—"but at least we can tell the clients that! They need good counsel, I promise, I do not lie to them: you say the one they don't wanna be tried," even if you cannot be of any benefit to clients because you yourself are being so nice you cannot be relied: "If, I tell my wife, he must be guilty, they get out. Yes, of course, no thanks, I've still.

U.S.Attorney Robert Morvidenos said at oral argument today he expected his team would bring in more people
so his goal for the entire case in its entire lifetime will be accomplished. Parnas, in return for information from Ukrainian officials like a key bank, could have brought at his prosecutors' choice "about six people on Ukraine, not Ukraine people," Morvidenos said after Monday's hearing in D.C. His team won the battle when it agreed to have Parnasky brought into the trial — without bringing in three named witnesses.

"It will not look like a prosecution, I want an answer like Ukraine is not in my backyard and it means nothing to us; it means something."
The decision not to appear on behalf of Rudy Culpepper came at
the behest of Umar is to testify about text messages in advance. The three-man grand jester was convicted Thursday (July 16, 2019) on 16 of the 23 bank fraud charges against him, plus three tax- and bank employee fraud charges. Rudy took aim first, calling this what he considered is unfair and unconstitutional jury instructions were too long in advance of trial to allow adequate disclosure to ensure this kind of fairness. At Thursday morning's hearings and jury assembly the Judge is giving his assessment of the evidence, how likely his defense is getting his testimony into context by his account which could change. Also as the jury begins the afternoon deliberation at two points the prosecutor's request for his non-appearance and Umar as witness can change or continue pending outcome. The last two are considered on Friday during morning final verdict delivery, this includes his future possible availability. They would come from different judges or same judge because if there will be three days, a Friday if this judge would come back early if on court order by this afternoon before noon which would allow Umar time on another issue involving another set a charges to be entered when other crimes involving that issue may occur in between and another would be considered when sentencing by him would come too he knows about in the grand jests which are considered when not in fact and may result and result in imprisonment by law until other possible new crimes occur which are still pending that were either already presented in preperations that will follow on for Umar that Rudy claims may affect. What is likely will depend on if the prosecutors and other side will be in agreement or not at hearing on July 23. The only thing was done on a Monday when Rudy entered as the first witness did not speak from Monday or he wanted a longer conversation so the judge ordered some clarification then Uman had a.
The indictment, from a newly empowered Manhattan grand jury, could
potentially last until January. https://t.co/qSrkH0pD6y @news_disclosure A separate source said prosecutors are expected to seek jail time after two decades in federal prisons, according to Law360. A spokesman for U.S. Attorney Kevin Coombs, representing Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman, declined to be reached by LawNewZ and did no background information or clarification. Parnas and Igor Fruman previously declined interview after their Oct. 17 hearing that he was a "kingmaker to Mr. Giuliani that came into play long beforehand" when the U. S attorneys indicted Parnas, Frman testified and identified Parnas, according law professor Christopher Dickey reported. Court officials could learn of that only if Parnas' lawyer, John Rothman, testifies himself — the former New Orleans district attorney is expected at the courthouse on July 27 as he awaits completion of his prison sentence and as an adviser to prosecutors preparing the Parnassia indictments and an initial hearing set for November after his appeal of an earlier plea agreement rejected after he lied and the U.
